MDMenus

Duster

What is it?

MDMenus is a dynamic menu system module developed for MDPro based on PHP Layers Menu 3.1.1 by Marco Pratesi.

What does it do?

It allows you to have multiple level menus, to have more than one menu, and to have them in vertical or horizontal styles according to the arrangement of your themes.

Usage

MDMenus is accessed from the admin menu under Modules. The syntax for permissions is as follows:

Group
Component
Instance
Permissions Level
All groups
SuperMenus::
Menu:Administration:
None

Admins can hide items by setting read access to the admin only. This can be useful when constructing or revising a large section of the menu and the admin wants to unveil it only when it is complete.

To add a new item:

  • Enter the name you wish to appear on the menu in the field Name.
  • Enter a description under Alternate text.
  • Select an icon to be displayed preceding the items or transparent.png for no icon at all.
  • Under Open This Link In The: select New Window only if you wish to change from the default of Same Window.
  • Select the location on the menu where you want to place this item. You may place it before or after any item or insert it under any menu level. This is generally done only for the first nested item as you will likely use the before or choices for subsequent nested items.
  • If a module, check the radiobox next to Module and select the module name.
  • If a URL, check URL and enter the URL in the text field. Absolute and relative URLs will work. Relative URLs are based on the location of index.php, the root location of MDP.
  • Click on Submit.
