| Post subject: Globat claims that MDP has flaws!! |
I just thought I should let MDP people know about it. Cause its funny how they claimed MDP has flaws. I ran more than 5 MDP sites with different hosting. But only with Globat I get the issues.
Heres what they said about MDP

Dear Valued Customer,
There have been performance issues on that server, but those issues are
resolved. I do see there is still a problem with your MD-Pro board. You
are not the only person who has encountered this problem with that
software, and it is not just a recent issue. It is very common for clients
running the MD-Pro software to report problems with their scripts
hanging and their pages "loading slow". This is not actually due to server
performance issues and is caused by flaws in that software.
I checked the server where your site is located and the server has very
low load. I also checked the database server, and the database server
is responding very quickly. I do not believe that the server or the
database are causing the performance issue that you are experiencing.
The most likely cause of the slowdown that you're experiencing is that
some task that your MD-Pro scripts are performing isn't allowed, and
the scripts have to wait for that task to timeout before they can
continue. This will give symptoms that can be mistaken for poor server
performance. If the task is one with a short timeout and the script performs
the task multiple times, this can also account for slowdown. It's
possible that your scripts are performing excessive database queries, however
it's unlikely that's the cause of the slowdown that you're experiencing
since your scripts would need to be performing hundreds of queries to
slow down to that point.
Also, you will receive a process limit error if your scripts are not
terminating. The server will detect if you have an unusually high number
of processes running, and will not allow you to spawn further processes
until your existing processes terminate. This means that if your
scripts have problems with hanging or perform functions that time out, you
might run into process limit problems. This is a problem with your
scripting, not the server. The process limit error is the server's automatic
way of protecting itself from resource issues that could be caused by
scripts which do not terminate.
This process limit will not prevent you from running a large-scale
high-traffic site. We have customers who run very large message boards
which stay well within the process limit.
Thank you for contacting our technical support. If you have any further
questions, please reply to this email leaving all text intact, and be
sure to give us a detailed description of how we can further assist you.
Best regards,
Johnny

Probably just a default email that they copy the name of the program into, my guess is that Johnny has never looked at or used our code. Especially as he says "problem with your MD-Pro board" MD-Pro isn't a board (guessing he means bulletin board?)
These were the jokers that didn't know how to setup mod_security weren't they? So I don't think I'll accept them telling me that MD-Pro code is to blame |
