Post subject: php gurus

is there a method of finding a value on a file and replacing that value
from one in a form say? something like awk and sed with bash?

Example:

I have a html template that has places in it with like;
#name
#from
#when
#how

and I'd like to replace these by entering the correct values from a form and save it.

I've read up on ereg_replace but I don't think it will find the file in a directory, or do multi lines?

Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Whazoo
