Post subject: YouTube in Articles and Messages?

Hello.

I'm quite confused as to why I can't get YouTube embeds to show up.

When I try to post an Article or Message with one, it ignores my "Don't Convert HTML" as well as all the Permitted HTML tags; It leaves the <param... tags however.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much!

I can use DailyMotion and YouTube on the Forum now; but only when I'm logged in. Any anonymous user will only see the code for the embed. No tags are taken away or anything like that; but it just shows the code.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again, in advance. Smile

I am also interested in embeding youtube videos in news stories... but when I do and hit preview I get kicked out to the main page.

Can you give an example of how to use that tag in a news story? Or is it only for the forum? If so how do we embed a youtube video into a story?

so...
this MDForum modification works only in MDForum

to add a Youtube Video in a news you have to enable some html tags

in administration, choose preferences and enable (with parameters):

<objects>
<param>
<embed>

then, if you use RTE Multi, type your text for the news and then click on the HTML button in the RTE Multi's Toolbar

it will show you the html code of your news.

at the end of the whole test add this:

Code:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/m7P_Zsuj_4E"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/m7P_Zsuj_4E" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

i hope it will works Razz

I use RTE Multi and have those tags enabled.

I selected "html" and added the youtube code and when I post or preview I get kicked to the main page and the story is not posted.
Code:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gAr0psfJGeg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gAr0psfJGeg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

any idea why this does not work?

I've got a little bit of a problem with this mod. It seems that enabling youtube has broken the "quotes" tag. Is there a way to get both quotes and youtube bbcodes working together?
