Post subject: Reviews Module - small problem

I see there isn't much on this module in the forums, so here I am...

I have just started using MDpro, and the installation was very smooth... I suppose it doesn't hurt that I have installed about 30 CMSes in the past couple of years But, still - excellent install script and feedback.

In any event, I am trying MDPro because of the reviews module. I have installed it but I am getting a small issue - Directly above the table of reviews there is a filename or something called:

_REVIEWSNOCATS

Can someone tell me why that is there, and how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

Also, I see that there is an administration page, but where? I cannot find it.

Ok it looks like _REVIEWSNOCATS has something to do with defining categories. IN the docs I have this:

1. Go to the reviews administration page and set your reviews page title, a description for your reviews section, and any of the module-wide options you like.

2. Create categories appropriate for the content of your site for reviews.

You can configure several things about the reviews module:

* The title for the reviews -index page.
* The description that appears on the index page.
* Whether the alphabetical index appears on the index page.
* Whether the category index appears on the index page.
* Whether the related URL gets opened in a new window if you click on it (Note that opening links in new windows is contrary to accessibility guidelines)

However I CANNOT find where to do this - I have looked high and low in the admin section and cannot find it... Can anyone help?

Probably you are using MDPro 1082 with an old reviews module, made for MDPro 1076. Actually we don't have a Review module working with the latest stable MDPro 1082.

Well, that explains it.

I was tearing my hair out for several hours...

Are the security issues fixed with 1076 ?

We don't support MDpro 1076 and we stopped to develop it, so I don't suggest to use MDpro 1076.

Our stable and supported version is MDPro 1082, we are going to release 1082, and we are working on 1085 with a lot of new feature and improvements, but at the moment we don't have a working conversion for reviews module.

Well, the reviews module is why I wanted to use MDPro!

Its my understanding that the reviews is a redo of a PostNuke module... Maybe they have something?

So, I guess I am off to the search again...

It is a lot of time I don't use postnuke, but I think that they have a reviews module integrated in their core.

In the italian support foum there is an interesting post, probably someone is working on prodreviews, wich is better than the old review module.

I'm going to test this module, if it works I'll post it here.

Wow, that would be good news.

I loaded 1076 and am having trouble getting it to work there too. (I know, I shouldn't use it...but... I really need a reviews module) The same issues occur, cannot find the configuration file

I am having trouble adding a new block too...

I'll keep checking back for news on that ProdReviews module... Thanks for going to the trouble!
