Post subject: 1.0821 Modules instaled, but not working
I don't get it. I installed modules (FAQ, Photogallery and MDCal), using regular procedure, and it all seems ok, but when I try to add anything I just receive error message saying that module doesnt exist.
Code:
Module name: FAQ :: type: :: file/func: main :: module does not exist
And it all seems just right, regenerate, install, activate, then I sort the module to the proper tab... But when I click on it's icon, all I get is error message.
MDCal is a bit different as it displays the table with overall module settings, but the line that goes on top (Icon + menu) is not there. And when I try to trick it and enter direct link in ordrer to add something into the calendar, it says that module doesn't exist.

Skin,
Please sorry for me being an asshole and not posting you reply sooner. Well, what actually happend with this thing is that I decided to drop the whole thing and I installed 1.082 version instead and it all works fine. With 1.083 being just around the corner, I just wait for that one and then do the upgrade.
Another thing that I was sondering about is, is it possible to copy db tables from 1.076 mdpro site to new verions? And if it is, are there any specific things one shold do to have it all working properly. Thx in advance!

You must run upgrade procedure from 1.076, please read instructions carefully

I just went through my previous post and I am completely amazed how distracted I was. What I wanted to ask was: is it safe to copy the tables of certain modules (news, to be more specific) from older version of mdpro, into freshly installed one. It seems to be that the news module is the same as it was in previous versions of mdpro, so i guess its ok to copy the tables. Is it?
The reason why I'm asking this is that we have a buggy live site (1.076) which ends up being ****** up during upgrade (it was originally upgraded to mdpro from postnuke, and since then it went through couple of hackers attacks). So, to avoid all the mess, we thought that it would be the best to have fresh install and then just to insert db tables from old system which are the same as the ones in the new cms. And we did it. It seems to work just fine, but I wonder are there any other issues that we should be aware of?
So, basically what we have right now is 1.076 live site with minor bugs that turn out to be fatal during upgrade procedure, and great looking 1.082 site that seems to work just fine with copied news module db tables. Our plan is to finish the transition and then upgrade to 1.0821, or to 1.083 if that comes around in meantime.

You can do the upgrade on a cloned site; after you can do a clean installation and import in this new and clean installation all your news from the cloned/upgraded site.
