Post subject: MD Gallery Help needed!! 3rd party mod from dangerous Minds
i just downloaded mdgallery version from dangerous minds.......... and seemingly no help is available on their site (no forums, and their chat uspport doesnt work) so i'm gonna ask it on here lol
i downloaded mdgallery from ur site. i understand everything on the installation instructions except 1 small thing, which im guessing is quite important....
how do i put my site into setup mode??? i've never heard of this??
in dangerous minds mdgallery instructions it says this.........
4. Put the site into Setup mode...
* in the mdGallery folder run...
/configure.sh
* or
o sh ./configure.sh
I see the file configure.sh, but i have no idea about this setup mode ??? never heard of it before for installing a mdpro module??
i tried pointing my url at this www.mysite.com/configure.sh, but i'm strongly guessing this is not what you meant lol
i'm a total newbie, but i understand everything in the instructions, except this part, and i need a working gallery for mdpro 1.082 which i have downloaded last month... c
can anyone help me? or even suggest a different gallery module for mdpro? and where to get it from??
i went from joomla to mdpro, not sure i did the right thing (><)
(i'm using bluehost.com)
After you must upload Menalto gallery in the directory modules of mdpro, so you'll have something like /public_html/modules/gallery .
Now you should install Gallery 1.5.8 as a standalone module, and configure the module as described in modules/gallery/docs ; remember that to start the process you'll have to go directly in www.yoursite.com/modules/gallery/setup/index.php and remember to read carefully their docs, you'll find instuctions about "setup mode"; exactly to put your gallery in setup mode you can do that:
chmod 777 modules/gallery/albums (this is the album dir created in step 2)
chmod 666 modules/gallery/.htaccess
chmod 666 modules/gallery/config.php
chmod 755 modules/gallery/setup/ (setup/ is a directory)
After a successful installation as standalone, and after testing it as standalone, you can go in your MDPro administration and click on settings and after on modules, regenerate all module list and process and activate gallery by clicking on the apposite buttons.
